Andrey Kotelnikov is the latest player to have his name added to the WPT Mike Sexton World Poker Tour Champions Cup. The Russian overcame 989 entries in the $ 3,200 WPT World Online Championships mix-max no-limit hold’em buy-in event to earn his first WPT title and a $ 488,508 grand prize.

This is Kotelnikov’s biggest tournament score on record, surpassing the $ 90,870 he earned as a third place finisher in the $ 80,000 HKD ($ 10,309 USD) buy-in event at the 2015 Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau Cup. He now has over $ 1.1. million in cash registered in his name.

The final table of the event starts with 2016 WPT Prague main champion Oleg Vasylchenko as the chip leader. Kotelnikov sits in fifth chip position among the seven finals, but he is far from short with 42 big blinds to start the visit saranacash.

Oleg Vasylchenko pushed around 18 big blinds with the K Heart SuitQ Club Suit when folded towards him in the small blinds during the four-handed action. Kotelnikov woke up in A Club Suit Q Spade Suit in the big blind and called. His high ace remained good through the river and Vasylchenko was eliminated in fourth place ($ 190,500).
